Let’s look at where the money is going in Week 3 of the 2021 NFL Season.
The Jacksonville Jaguars (0-2 SU, 0-2 ATS) will face off against the Arizona Cardinals (2-0 SU, 1-1ATS) in a game that has been the focus of some pros v. joes action. The Arizona Cardinals are coming off a last-second victory over the Minnesotta Vikings, while the Jaguars have looked putrid with Trevor Lawrence and Urban Meyer through two games.
But despite nearly 90% of the bets being on the Arizona Cardinals, Sportsbooks have brought lines from Jaguars + 7.5 to +7 multiple times. As well as from +8 to +7.5 in many spots.
The Baltimore Ravens (1-1 SU, 1-1 ATS) will travel to Detroit to face off against the Lions (0-2 SU, 1-1 ATS). The Ravens are coming off an emotional Sunday Night Football victory against the Kansas City Chiefs at home while the Lions fell to the Green Pay Packers at Lambeau Field on Monday Night Football. The Lions were, nonetheless, firmly in the game at halftime and have shown good effort in the first two games of the season. Because of that, sharps have been showing the hefty home dogs some love.
The emergence of T.J Hockenson as one of the better tight ends in the NFL and the two-headed monster of Jamaal Williams and D’Andre Swift are likely playing a role. Dan Campbell also seems to be getting a lot of effort out of his defense.
Despite the majority of the money being on the Ravens, the Lions have bounced from +8 to +7.5 nearly five times. If you are able to find +8 anywhere, it will likely be the best number.
Both of these teams are fresh off tough losses. The Seahawks (1-1 SU, 1-1 ATS) squandered a 14-point fourth quarter lead to the Tennessee Titans while the Vikings (0-2, 0-1-1ATS) lost a back-and-forth battle at the Arizona Cardinals after a missed field goal as time expired.
Sharp action has hit Vikings +2.5 nearly six times, and in all six of those instances the line has swung back to +2 and even to +1.5 despite more than 70% of the money being on the Seahawks.
The Miami Dolphins (1-1 SU, 1-1 ATS) will be going into this game with their backup quarterback, Jacoby Brisset, as Tua Tagovaiola suffered a rib injury in the Dolphins’ 35-0 loss in week 2. On the other side will be the Las Vegas Raiders (2-0 SU, 2-0 ATS) who are off to what many would describe as an unexpectedly good start. They beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 26-17 on the road last Sunday.
Even with the 2-0 start and Miami going with their backup, sharp money has been hitting the Dolphins at +4 forcing it back to +3.5 at least 7 times, despite the public hammering the Raiders.
In what may just be the marquee game so far of the 2021 season, sharp money has caught up to an early line move. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-0 SU, 1-1 ATS) opened as +1 underdogs, eventually hitting +1.5 underdogs, until getting bet all the way to -1.5. Now, sharps are coming over the top and getting on the LA Rams (2-0 SU, 1-1 ATS) as +2 point home underdogs. Despite the public being all over the Bucs, there has been plenty of line movement from +2 to +1.5.
