Owned by Super Group Holding Company, Betway is an online sportsbook that has enjoyed huge success in both the UK and EU markets before launching here in the United States. 

Betway is well-known for its sponsorship efforts in the UK and in 2021 was the largest sponsor in UK and Irish horse racing. The company is also the main sponsor of English Premier League club West Ham and since entering the US market has tied up deals with the Golden State Warriors, Brooklyn Nets, La Clippers, and Chicago Bulls. 

With so many deals signed, big things are expected of the brand in the coming years. 

So we decided to take a closer look at its current offerings to see if Betway is as good as its UK and EU-based counterparts. 

What is Betway Sportsbook?

Betway is an online sportsbook powered by tech provider SBTech. This allows Betway to offer odds on thousands of weekly sporting events covering all the major leagues and most popular sports in the US. 

The sportsbook’s main focus in terms of sports includes:

However, there are also odds available for other sports such as

This isn’t even a comprehensive list, but that’s not what’s most impressive about the sports covered at this sportsbook. What we were really impressed with is the sheer number of events covered for each individual sport. 

For example, if betting on basketball, fans would expect to find odds for all the upcoming NBA games. What they may not expect to find is odds for games in Greece, Australia, and Iceland. The same goes for baseball with odds available on games in South Korea and Japan as well as the usual MLB and MiLB in the USA. 

This is where Betway really impresses making it perfect for building mammoth parlay bets across multiple leagues.

Welcome bonus and promotions

As with most sportsbooks here in the US, Betway offers new customers a bonus upon registering. At the time of writing, this bonus is a risk-free bet worth up to $250. 

To qualify for this risk-free bet, customers must register for an account, make a deposit of at least $10, and place their first bet of up to $250 on any sport of their choosing. If this bet wins, the customer keeps their winnings and stake. But if it loses, Betway will refund the full stake in site credits. These credits can then be used to place bets on any other sport but must be used within seven days. 

It’s worth noting that this first bet must be placed within seven days of the account being opened and with odds of at least -300. 

Betway’s bonus offer isn’t quite as good as many of its competitors, but we imagine that this could change at some point in the future. 

Daily promotions

While there is no loyalty or rewards program available through Betway’s online sportsbook, there are quite a lot of daily promotions. These include both risk-free bets and Betway Boosts which we explain in the features section below. 

There are also a few quirky promotions such as a $5 free bet for every touchdown your favorite football team scores in a selected event. 

Software

Although Betway is relatively new to the US sports betting industry, the company is an established force in the UK with a solid reputation behind it. As a result, Betway has invested significantly in its online betting operations and it shows. 

Both the website and app are slick and extremely polished. Although Betway does run on an SBTech template, the company has done a wonderful job of making it unique and easy to navigate. The addition of a search function that actually works very well was a masterstroke. 

The Betway betting slip is also very easy to use while there’s a huge repertoire of stats for research before placing bets. 

The mobile app is available on both iOS and Android and during our tests, both seemed to function flawlessly much as the website does. Again, it is easy to navigate your way through the app with all functions and features very clearly laid out. 

As Betway requires a player to be in the state their app is licensed to, a GeoComply app may be needed before the betting app can be used.

Features

Now onto the most important aspect of any sports betting app — the betting features. 

As you would expect, Betway offers players the chance to make all the usual types of bets such as:

While this is quite standard, there are some notable features that are worthy of mentioning. 

First is the One-Game Parlay. This allows customers to make a parlay bet on a single game. The parlay could involve totals, a prop bet, and a points spread. This is a nifty feature that is often overlooked in other sportsbooks or too hard to locate. 

Next is the Add to Bet feature that, as you may have guessed, allows customers to add new picks to an open bet so they can modify it without having to make a new bet. 

There is also a cash out feature that is much like the standard early exit feature on most sportsbooks. The difference with Betway’s feature though is that it allows a customer to make a full or partial cash out. This means that they can take some of the wager out and leave the rest on the outcome of the game/event. 

Finally, there are Betway Boosts. These are enhanced odds for specific sporting events. Betway Boosts are available every day and there is some great value to be found if a customer spends a little time studying the markets — and makes the right bet of course.

One of the main ways that sportsbooks are now trying to attract new customers is by offering live streaming.
