NFL Week 7 Sharp Action Report

Let’s take a look at where the professional gamblers have their money in week 7. It’s worth noting that the last two weeks have been quite friendly to the public, with favorites practically going undefeated in week 6.

Cincinnati Bengals (+6.5) vs. Baltimore Ravens

This is perhaps the strongest sharp play of the week, with two AFC North divisional opponents facing off in Baltimore with a spread that sharps are saying is too large. The Ravens (5-1 SU, 3-3 ATS) are fresh off a drubbing of the Los Angeles Chargers (4-2 SU, 4-2 ATS), a 34-6 victory, while the Bengals just beat the Lions on the road, 34-11.

While 46% of the bets are on the Bengals, so too is 65% of the money. It appears the books are afraid to move this line to 7, for fear that more money would come over the top on the Bengals. The Bengals are a sneakily good defensive football team with the offense to keep up with the Ravens. A live dog on the moneyline too. Sharps aren’t forgetting the fact that the Ravens could easily have three more losses at the hands of the Lions, Colts and Chiefs from earlier this season.

Chicago Bears (+12.5) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Betting against Tom Brady is not for the faint of heart, especially against a rookie quarterback. Nonetheless just 43% of the bets are on the Bears (3-3 SU, 3-3 ATS) +12.5 but so too is 70% of the money. This line has bounced from +12.5 to +12 a few times, and may even settle below 12 before kickoff on Sunday.

The Buccaneers (5-1 SU, 2-4 ATS) looked vulnerable at times against the Eagles and mobile quarterback Jalen Hurts on Thursday night. Sharps are betting on some similar cracks in the defense to show up this week for the Bucs against the Bears.

Carolina Panthers at New York Giants (+3)

The New York Giants are a mess right now. They are off back-to-back beat downs to the Rams and Cowboys and stand at 1-5 (2-4 ATS). But that hasn’t scared away the sharps. A mere 23% of the money is on the Giants, with nearly 56% of the money on the home dogs. That’s a 33% differential between bet and money % on a home underdog against Sam Darnold.

There are plenty of pro bettors that like Carolina here, but the line is staying sharp on the Giants at +3.

It’s a desperation spot for the Giants, and the Panthers will be traveling after back-to-back brutal losses at home. The line has bounced from +3 to +2.5 in a couple spots despite all that money on the Panthers, so if you can get the +3 that’ll be the best number on the GIants.
