With each passing day, Ohio gets a little closer to its long-awaited launch of legal sports betting. And bettors get a little closer to being able to take advantage of promotional offers that will accompany the Jan. 1 sports betting kickoff in the Buckeye State. That includes a tremendous preregistration promotion from industry heavyweight BetMGM, which is offering Ohio bettors $200 in free wagers on launch day – with no deposit necessary.
The promo is available with use of the promo code USBETTING, and can be accessed until 11:59 p.m. on Dec. 31. Ohio customers who sign up early with BetMGM will receive four $50 wagers credited to their accounts on launch day, and will have seven days to use their free bets.
New customers who claim the preregistration promo are not eligible for BetMGM’s standard welcome offer. (That is the risk-free wager up to $1,000.) You cannot redeem the free bet amount for cash. It will not be included in any winnings, according to BetMGM’s terms and conditions. Ohio’s sports betting law stipulates that bettors in the state must be at least 21 years old to wager. They also must physically be within state lines to bet via a mobile app.
Unique ‘Edit My Bet’ Feature
Receiving the BetMGM Ohio preregistration promotion is simple. Start by signing up for an account, which involves providing BetMGM with information that verifies your identity. New users also must provide the last four digits of a Social Security number, and sign up for a geolocation app will that verify your physical location as dictated by state law. Then use the bonus code USBETTING to claim the offer.
The four $50 free bets give users immediate flexibility when it comes to wagering on Ohio’s launch day. A $50 wager on a moneyline of +200, for example, would return a bettor $100 in winnings. BetMGM boasts its renowned “Edit My Bet” feature. That allows users options such as removing a team from a parlay, removing a moneyline wager or increasing a stake. The feature is available whenever customers see “cash out” as an option on their bet slip.
It’s but one feature of BetMGM, which was formed in July 2018 through a partnership between MGM Resorts International and the sports betting company Entain Group. Its features, level of customer service, promo and rewards programs rival anything bettors would find at a top retail sportsbook in Las Vegas — no surprise, given that the company’s dazzle and panache are rooted in the MGM Grand resort that has been a mainstay on the Strip since 1993.
