World Series Betting Is Risk-Free At BetMGM

You can bet on Justin Verlander and the Astros to win the World Series at BetMGM.

The opening of the 2022 Fall Classic this week affords bettors an opportunity to take advantage of one of the best deals in World Series betting, courtesy of an industry heavyweight famous for its polish and panache.

BetMGM offers new users a risk-free first bet of up to $1,000 — meaning that if the wager loses, customers receive the amount back in the form of free bets. Even a losing wager in Game 1 on Friday night between the Philadelphia Phillies and Houston Astros will result in credits rolled back into a customer’s account that can be used later in the Fall Classic (or on other events; terms and conditions apply).

To take advantage of the offer, download the BetMGM app from either the Apple App Store or Google Play, sign up for a new account and make a deposit of at least $10. If your first bet wins, then congratulations – the winnings are yours. But even if it loses, users will have free bets credited back to them, up to the limit of $1,000.

BetMGM Is A Mainstay

BetMGM has been around since the beginning of legal sports betting in the United States. It formed months after the Supreme Court struck down the nationwide ban on sports wagering in 2018. Its parent company, MGM Resorts, has been a mainstay in sports betting for decades, dating to the opening of the original MGM Grand hotel on the Las Vegas Strip in 1993.

The $1,000 risk-free first bet is another in a long line of customer-friendly initiatives. Free bets are credited back to users depending on the amount of the initial wager. If the bet was greater than $50, users will receive five free bets equal to 20% of the original bet. A maximum $1,000 wager, for instance, would return five bets worth $200 apiece. If the bet was less than $50, users receive a single free bet credit equal to the original amount.

World Series bettors also can take advantage of the One Game Parlay Insurance promo that BetMGM is offering. Place a one-game parlay with at least four legs on a World Series game. If all legs hit but one, users get back their original stake in free bets up to $25. You cannot cash out free bets. Bettors must redeem them through a BetMGM app or website. They must use them within seven days of them being credited to an account.

Pair Of Aces In Game 1

Game 1 of Major League Baseball’s World Series on Friday night in Houston features a dynamite pitching matchup between Aaron Nola of the Phillies and Justin Verlander of the Astros. Houston is a -165 World Series betting favorite on the moneyline, according to BetMGM, while Philadelphia is a +140 underdog. The total is 6.5 runs, with the over favored at -125 despite the two ace pitchers involved.

Verlander is 2-0 in the postseason, striking out 14 and allowing two walks over 10 innings pitched. He also beat Philadelphia 10-0 in the final series of the regular season, striking out 10 in five innings. Nola is 2-1 this postseason, with 18 strikeouts and 3 walks. He struck out nine batters in a 3-0 victory over Houston on the final week of the regular season.

BetMGM also offers a number of bets on the winning margin of Game 1, as well as wagers on how many runs each team will score, and props involving star players such as Philadelphia’s Bryce Harper and Houston’s Alex Bregman. Harper is +200 to connect for at least two singles, for example, and +1100 to blast at least two homers. The Astros are a -190 favorite to win the series, according to BetMGM. Houston’s Yordan Alvarez, at +600, is the MVP favorite.

Aaron Nola is 2-1 this postseason, with 18 strikeouts and 3 walks. He beat Houston in the final week of the regular season.
