The 2020 NBA Playoffs are underway, with all of the games taking place in the bubble in Orlando, Florida. The top seeds are big favorites in seven of the eight series, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be some great matchups.
Each first-round series is a best-of-seven format, and the odds suggest that most series will end in just four of five games. The chances are that there will be at least one upset in the first round, which could lead to a huge payday for the bettor that makes the correct pick.
Clippers/Lakers Have Tough Tests
The two teams from Los Angeles are the top two seeds in the Western Conference, but they both have difficult first-round matchups. The top-seeded Lakers will take on the Portland Trail Blazers as the number eight seed. The Clippers will take on the Dallas Mavericks in the first round.
Both the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers are being offered at -500 to win their first-round series. The Trail Blazers and Mavericks are being offered at +350 to pull off the upset.
The Portland Trail Blazers earned the number eight seed after an impressive run during the eight seeding games. Damian Lillard was named the MVP of the Bubble after leading the Blazers to the playoffs.
Luka Doncic leads the Dallas Mavericks, and he nearly averaged a triple-double during the restart. The Clippers will be getting some of their players back, and they have one of the deepest teams in the NBA.
Pacers Lone Underdog
The Indiana Pacers earned the number 4 seed in the Eastern Conference, and they will take on the 5-seed, the Miami Heat. Despite technically being the better seed in this series, FanDuel Sportsbook likes the Miami Heat a bit more.
Indiana has battled injuries throughout the restart, and they are playing without All-Star Domantas Sabonis. Miami has also battled some injuries, but they should be fully healthy when the playoffs begin.
The Miami Heat are listed at -325 at FanDuel Sportsbook to win the series, and the Indiana Pacers are at +250. The most likely outcome, according to FanDuel, is the Heat winning the series in five games.
FanDuel is offering the Heat winning the series 4-1 at +270. The least likely outcome, according to FanDuel, is the Indiana Pacers pulling off a four-game sweep (+3800).
Bucks Still Title Favorite
The Milwaukee Bucks have been the best team in the NBA during the regular season, and they appear ready to go on a deep playoff run. Milwaukee is a monster favorite to win the Eastern Conference, and they are the NBA Championship betting favorites as well.
FanDuel Sportsbook has the Bucks at +260 to win the NBA Championship, which is just ahead of the Los Angeles Lakers (+300) and the Los Angeles Clippers (+320). Those three teams are well ahead of the pack, and the Toronto Raptors are the fourth team on the list at +1000.
