International Game Technology PLC (IGT), in partnership with Pearl River Resort, debuted its VIP-quality CrystalBetting Terminal sports betting kiosks for a 90-day trial run at two Mississippi casinos this month.

Owned by the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians, Pearl River Resort’s Golden Moon Casino in Philadelphia, MS, and Silver Star Casino, in Choctaw, will allow on-site bettors the chance to be among the first in the world to place wagers on the IGT CrystalBetting Terminal.

Each terminal includes a personal, 27-inch interactive touch screen monitor for bettors to watch live sporting events and place individual bets, create parlays and operate the in-play wagering options. The innovative design has privacy in mind, with wings on both sides, an audio jack for private listening, USB charging port and private workstation.

Nick Khin, IGT chief commercial officer, gaming, said: “IGT’s sports betting momentum in the U.S. market, paired with the player insights that we gained while testing the CrystalBetting Terminal, reinforce our confidence in the product’s capacity to deliver a compelling player experience that complements the entire IGT sports betting technology ecosystem.”

The design was recently named one of the Top 20 Most Innovative Gaming Technologies by Casino Journal, according to an IGT press release, and has been approved by the Mississippi Choctaw Gaming Commission, as well as certified by Gaming Labs International, for a three-month trial run at the two Magnolia State casinos.

Pearl River Resort was the first tribal casino outside of Nevada to open a retail sportsbook in 2018, post-PASPA repeal. The operator opened brick-and-mortar sportsbooks first, then expanded to include IGT PlaySports brand sports wagering kiosks and on-site mobile sports betting.

Neal Atkinson, Pearl River Resort director of table games, said: “Pearl River Resort is proud to partner with IGT on the global launch of the CrystalBetting Terminal. We prioritize being on the forefront of sports betting innovation and providing our players choice and convenience for placing sports bets at our properties.”
