Chicago Bears at Green Bay Packers Betting Preview

Sunday Night Football in Week 12 features the 5-5 Chicago Bears taking on the 7-3 Green Bay Packers at historic Lambeau Field. These two teams are long-time rivals, and you can typically throw the records out the window when they matchup.

Chicago got off to a 5-1 start this season, but the Bears have now lost four straight games. The Bears went from being a contender in the NFC North to being on the outside looking in at the NFC playoff picture.

Green Bay suffered a disappointing loss to the Indianapolis Colts in Week 11, and they will be out for revenge in this game. The Packers are clear favorites to win the NFC North, but Green Bay has their sights set on a Super Bowl.

The Packers are eight-point favorites over the Bears on Sunday night.

Bears Defense Must Be Great

If the Chicago Bears are going to come into Lambeau Field and stun the Packers, they will need their defense to be great. Chicago is allowing just 20.9 points per game this season, and that unit has been known to score some touchdowns.

Khalil Mack and Akiem Hicks will look to get pressure on Aaron Rodgers on Sunday night, and that could allow the secondary to be aggressive. If the Bears don’t score a defensive touchdown, they likely have no shot of winning this game.

All signs point to Mitch Trubisky starting at quarterback in this game after Nick Foles was injured in Week 10. The Bears need to find a way to get Allen Robinson the football as he leads the team with 63 receptions for 755 yards.

Chicago is the worst rushing team in the NFL, and they need to find a way to get running back David Montgomery going in this game. The offense has been a disaster all season, and that simply must change.

Packers Want to Score

The Green Bay Packers are scoring almost 31 points per game, and that is how they want to win games. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers is one of the best in the game, and the Packers have several playmakers on that side of the ball.

Rodgers has thrown for nearly 2900 yards this season, and he has a history of putting up big numbers against the Bears. Wide receiver Davante Adams has caught ten touchdown passes this season, and he will be getting plenty of looks in this one.

The Packers defense has struggled at times, but that might not be an issue against a bad Bears offense. Green Bay will need to stop the run, and it could lead to a low number on Sunday night.

Packers Dominate Bears

Usually, this game is extremely close as these two NFC North rivals don’t like each other. It’s hard to see the 2020 version of this rivalry being that competitive as the Bears have struggled of late.

The Chicago defense has the potential to keep this game close for a while, but the Bears don’t have enough offense. Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers need to get back on track, and they can do just that in this one.

Take the Green Bay Packers at -8 over the Chicago Bears in this NFC North rivalry game on Sunday night.
