Bally Bet launched in Iowa on Tuesday, making it its second jurisdiction since first going live in Colorado.
Bally’s has been focusing heavily on its mobile sportsbook, Bally Bet, and industry experts believe the app has the potential to be one of the more popular betting apps in the country as it continues to expand throughout the United States.
According to the press release following the launch, Bally Bet plans to expand into two more states before the end of the year. This is big news for Bally’s as the company has already started to grow its footprint in the middle portion of the country, and Bally leaders are hopeful that its expansion will help attract new players to their sportsbooks.
Bally Bet partners with Elite Casino Resorts
Bally Bet secured market access in Iowa through a partnership with Elite Casino Resorts. This casino conglomerate owns Grand Falls, Rhythm City, and Riverside Casinos, three of the state’s best gaming properties.
Bally Bet Sportsbook is still growing and so far the feedback has been positive: the app has received rave reviews in Colorado which is a highly competitive market. On Bally Bet, users can wager all major sports, but a few features separate the sportsbook from many competitors. For example, Bally Bet has in-app parlay games and integrated social media features.
Additionally, the site has a rewards program that can be redeemed for more than free bets. This is like the iRush Rewards Program offered by BetRivers. Users can redeem rewards points for gaming, dining, retail, and many other amenities at any of Bally’s Casinos nationwide. The sportsbook program is being added to Bally Rewards, which will help the app attract frequent casino property visitors.
The expansion to Iowa is excellent news for the company because of the exposure Bally’s is receiving through a deal with Sinclair Broadcast Group. Bally’s is the presenting sponsor for Sinclair’s local CBS and Fox affiliates for sporting events. All baseball games from Sinclair feature Bally’s branding, which has helped drive traffic to the casinos and will likely get them more eyeballs on their sportsbook too.
Comments from Bally Bet
Bally Bet executives have been eyeing the Iowa market for a long time. It’s developing into a competitive area of the Midwest for sports betting. Bally’s senior vice president for strategy and interactive, Adi Dhandhania, spoke after Bally Bet went live in the state.
He said, “As a state that has embraced legalized sports betting since 2019, Iowa was an attractive market for Bally Bet. We look forward to integrating Bally’s into Sinclair’s broadcast and digital programming in Iowa, providing Iowa sports fans with an engaging and creative sports betting experience and continuing our work toward solidifying Bally’s as a leading retail sportsbook brand with the third greatest reach in terms of U.S. legalized market access.”
The Iowa beta launch will not be full-scale. Bally Bet wants to ensure that all sportsbook features are operating efficiently before rolling out the entire product. This is the same process that the company unveiled in Colorado.
The launch will focus on deployment and testing to see if any refinements need to be made to the sportsbook. People in Iowa can download the app on iOS and Android.
