Kansas City Chiefs at New Orleans Saints Betting Preview

Week 15 of the NFL season is loaded with some great matchups, but perhaps none bigger than the game set to take place in New Orleans. The 10-3 Saints will host the 12-1 Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday in a battle of Super Bowl contenders.

Kansas City now sits atop the standings in the AFC West, and it has been red-hot of late. The Chiefs are the reigning Super Bowl champs and are a popular pick to repeat this season.

The Saints had won nine straight games before suffering a loss in Week 14 to Philadephia. New Orleans is now tied with the Green Bay Packers for the top seed in the NFC.

The Kansas City Chiefs are 3.5-point road favorites in this matchup against the Saints.

Chiefs Offense is Explosive

The Chiefs are scoring 31.0 points per game, and their passing attack is lethal. Patrick Mahomes and company are averaging over 317 passing yards per game, and there are a number of weapons available.

Mahomes has thrown for more than 4,200 yards and 33 touchdowns this season and could be in line to receive his second MVP Award. Tight end Travis Kelce leads the team with 1,250 receiving yards, but Tyreek Hill is a dangerous weapon as well.

The Chiefs are giving up just 21.6 points per game, and their defense remains an underrated part of this team. There is a reason that Kansas City leads the AFC as there are no holes on this roster.

Saints Must Defend

The New Orleans Saints are also underrated on defense, allowing just 20 points per game. If New Orleans is going to pull off this slight upset, then it must find a way to get some stops.

Quarterback Drew Brees remains out of the lineup with a rib/lung injury, and that has hurt the offense. New Orleans is averaging 28.3 points per game, but that number has dropped since Taysom Hill took over at that position.

Running back Alvin Kamara leads the team with 723 rushing yards and 699 receiving yards, and he will need to have a huge game on Sunday. New Orleans will need to string some drives together to give the defense a chance.

Kansas City Too Much For New Orleans

This is one of the biggest games of the season, but the New Orleans Saints come into this game shorthanded. There will be a ton of points scored in this game, and it’s hard to see the Saints keeping up without Brees.

The Chiefs will find some holes in the Saints secondary, and they will take control of this game from the jump. New Orleans is never an easy team to beat at home, but Kansas City has the weapons to win anywhere.

In what could be a Super Bowl preview, it will be the Kansas City Chiefs winning on Sunday. Bet the Chiefs -3.5 over the Saints in this huge matchup.
