For sports bettors, this weekend is about as good as it gets in October, with the start of the World Series amping up an already-loaded slate of college and pro football games. Bettors are looking for specials to help win big money. They will find many legal wagering sites offering unique bets on the Fall Classic and beyond.
Let’s take a look at some of the best weekend specials that betting sites have to offer, beginning with wagers pertaining to the opening game of the World Series between the Philadelphia Phillies and Houston Astros on Friday night.
Big Money 1: World Series Game 1
At BetMGM, bettors can find +825 odds on Houston’s Jose Altuve and Alex Bregman each recording at least one RBI in Game 1, and the Astros wining. Altuve has been 3-for-32 in the playoffs, without an RBI thus far. Bregman has been a more reliable 10-for-30 with seven runs batted in.
BetMGM is also offering +450 on the Phillies to win Game 1, and at least seven total runs being scored in the contest. For those feeling particularly bold, there’s a +1000 wager available on Philadelphia’s Rhys Hoskins hitting at least one home run, at least eight total runs being scored and the Phillies winning. Hoskins has homered five times so far in the postseason.
DraftKings is offering a +200 odds surge on any player hitting a home run in Game 1 (maximum bet $50). It also has a single-game parlay boost that sees an extra percentage being added to potential winnings for every additional wager. That ranges from a 20% boost on a three-leg parlay, up to 100% on a 10-leg play. With luck, the latter is a great way to win big money.
Big Money 2: World Series
Some operators are offering specials on the World Series at large. BetRivers in particular features an excellent selection beginning with a +145 offer on the Phillies to hit more home runs than the Astros in the series, the wager losing in the case of a tie. There’s also a +102 wager on Philadelphia’s Kyle Schwarber hitting more home runs in the series than Houston’s Yordan Alvarez. Alvarez has two homers thus far in the postseason, compared to three for Schwarber.
BetRivers is offering -134 odds on at least 9.5 different players to hit homers during the World Series. It also has a selection of wagers on players to record the most total bases in the series — with Hoskins leading the way at +400, followed by Bregman at +300, Philadelphia’s Bryce Harper at +225 and Houston’s Kyle Tucker at +200.
Caesars Sportsbook is offering a +260 odds boost on the Phillies winning the World Series 4-0, 4-1 or 4-2. And BetMGM is offering single-game parlay insurance for the duration of the World Series. Customers who place a single-game parlay with at least four legs on any series game will get their stake back (up to $25 in free bets) even if one leg misses.
Big Money 3: College Football
BetRivers offers two interesting specials on Saturday’s college football. Tops is Notre Dame (+275) to beat Syracuse and the game going over the total of 47.5 points. The Fighting Irish and Orange are each just 2-5 against the total so far this season. Syracuse, 6-1 overall, is also coming off a near upset of Clemson last weekend in Death Valley.
BetRivers is offering +100 on Penn State to win at least one half Saturday against Ohio State. The Buckeyes have scored at least 45 points in each of their past six games. The Nittany Lions lost 41-17 in their last game against a highly ranked opponent, at Michigan two weeks ago.
Big Money 4: NBA
Don’t worry, NBA bettors — there are some specials that have you covered as well. Caesars features +510 boosted odds on the Cleveland Cavaliers, Milwaukee Bucks and Chicago Bulls all winning on Friday night; all three teams have a winning record so far on the young season.
Unibet is also offering a single-game NBA parlay boost. Users get a 25% profit bonus on a parlay with at least three legs. Each leg must have odds of +300 or higher.
Big Money 5: Premier League
BetRivers is offering a Saturday special on an English Premier League match. In Man City-Leicester City, it’s +500 on Man City’s Erling Haaland to get a goal and an assist. The Norwegian national has 17 goals in 11 Premier League appearances so far this season, but the striker suffered a foot issue in a goalless draw with Dortmund in the Champions League on Tuesday.
