William Hill Launches Sports Betting Mobile App in Iowa

Sports betting in the state of Iowa has been taken to the next level, and William Hill is the company that is taking it there. William Hill just recently launched a mobile sports betting app in the Hawkeye State, making it the first one of its kind.

Sports betting in the state of Iowa was launched earlier this month but was limited to the licensed casinos throughout the state. Customers have been waiting for mobile/online betting to launch as well, and it took less than three weeks for William Hill to get things up and running.

No Stranger to Mobile Betting

There are other sports betting companies that are making waves in the United States, but William Hill continues to lead the charge. By launching this mobile betting in Iowa, it marks the ninth state that the company now has a presence in, and they are set to make it 10 in September when they launch their app in West Virginia.

William Hill is based in the United Kingdom, but broke into the United States market in 2012 and has quickly gained momentum. Their sports betting apps are available for download on iPads, iPhones, or Android devices. The online sportsbook can also be accessed on a desktop computer as long as location services are turned on.

What This Means in Iowa

Even though all of the sports betting can be done through the mobile app, customers have to visit a casino to register for a new account. This is a pretty common practice throughout the country in the states that have legalized sports betting.

The first deposit also needs to be made in person and can be done at any of the four William Hill sportsbook locations throughout the state. William Hill just recently opened up sportsbooks at Prairie Meadows Racetrack & Casino, Lakeside Hotel & Casino, Isle Casino Hotel Waterloo, and Isle Casino Hotel Bettendorf.

These are some of the most popular places to bet on sports in the state, and they all offer plenty of other entertainment besides a sportsbook or casino.

William Hill has also launched a loyalty rewards program that will give customers points for each bet that they place. The type of bet and the amount of it determines how many points will be awarded, and loyalty points can be redeemed for comps at the casinos and inside of the William Hill sportsbooks throughout the state.

Sportsbook App Review/What Bets are Available

Both in-play wagering and traditional betting will be offered through the William Hill sportsbook app, and the same type of bets can be done on-site at their sportsbooks. There are still some kinks to be expected with this new app, and a new system of registering, but this app should look much like it does in other states.

William Hill will follow all of the betting rules and regulations that have been set by Iowa, including making sure to track and confirm location before accepting any action. There are several ways to deposit money after the initial deposit, and withdrawal options will be plentiful.

Expect other companies to launch a sportsbook app in the near future, but for now, William Hill is the leader in the state of Iowa.
