What App Can I Bet on Sports?

The sports betting industry in the United States continues to grow, especially on mobile devices. You are able to place a bet on sports through your phone, assuming that you live in a state where this is legal.

What app can I use to bet on sports? The short answer is that several are out there and available, but that might not be the case depending on where you live or where you plan on doing your betting.

A majority of the states that have legalized sports betting have included mobile, but there are still a few that have not. If you live in one of these states or live in a state that doesn’t have legalized sports betting, then you are out of luck.

If you live in a state with mobile betting, there are likely several different options available to you. There are three main categories of mobile sports betting apps in the US, and below is a quick breakdown of each category.

As long as you have a smartphone, you can likely do a quick “sports betting” search in the app store, and you will likely see these options.

DFS to Sportsbook

Two of the biggest names in the sports betting industry are two companies that started out in the DFS industry. FanDuel and DraftKings have become leaders in several states that have recently legalized sports betting.

If these two operators have a presence in your state, then it is likely that they are also offering sports betting. Both apps allow you to jump back and forth between the sportsbook and the DFS site

If your state or area has these two sites available, then it would be worth it to download the app

Popular US Options

As the sports industry has started to take off throughout the US, some of the most popular sportsbooks from Las Vegas have emerged in other states. Nevada was the clear leader in the industry up until 2019, but some sportsbooks from that area took advantage of an expanding and growing industry.

Mobile sports betting apps such as BetMGM or BetRivers are two extremely popular options depending on where you live. FOX Bet is another popular US option, although the parent group, The Stars Group, is from Canada.

Regulated International Options

The growth of the US sports betting industry has been helped by a large number of international sportsbooks launching their products. Some of these companies were already operating out of Las Vegas, while others were looking to break into states that were building up the industry.

William Hill is one of the most recognizable names in the sports betting industry, and it has a mobile app available to customers. PointsBet is another international operator that has done extremely well since launching in the United States.

Even though these are internationally-based sportsbooks, they have received a license to operate in the US, and it is completely legal and safe.
