Rose Bowl Betting Pick: Notre Dame Fighting Irish vs. Alabama Crimson Tide

It will be the Alabama Crimson Tide taking on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the Rose Bowl Game on New Year’s Day. This Rose Bowl Game will be played at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, instead of in Pasadena, Calif., due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Alabama is the No. 1 team in the country, and the Crimson Tide have outscored opponents by more than 30 points per game. The Crimson Tide were tested a bit in the SEC Championship Game, but they will be ready for this one.

Notre Dame suffered a blowout loss to Clemson in the ACC Championship Game, and the Fighting Irish will need to regroup in a hurry. This team suffered just one loss all season, and they are worthy of a spot in the College Football Playoff.

Alabama is a massive 19.5-point favorite over Notre Dame in the Rose Bowl Game.

Notre Dame Must Defend

If the Fighting Irish are going to make this a competitive game, then the defense has to be great. Notre Dame is allowing just 18.6 points per game this season, but the Irish were not good against Clemson in their last outing.

Quarterback Ian Book is a proven winner, and he has thrown for over 2,600 yards and 15 touchdowns this season. Book will have to air it out in this game, especially if the Fighting Irish fall behind early.

Notre Dame will also look to feed running back Kyren Williams in hopes of controlling the football. Williams rushed for over 1,000 yards this season, but running the football against Alabama is never an easy task.

Alabama Offense Is Explosive

Alabama is scoring more than 49 points per game, and its offense has a number of future NFL stars on the roster. Quarterback Mac Jones and wide receiver DeVonta Smith are both Heisman Trophy finalists after huge offensive seasons.

Jones has thrown for over 3,700 yards and has tossed 32 touchdown passes. DeVonta Smith has accounted for 19 total touchdowns and is always dangerous when he has the football.

The defense has given up some points this season, but it has also allowed just 19 points per game. This is a complete Alabama team, and there is a reason that it is undefeated.

Crimson Tide Roll to Title Game

Alabama is clearly the best team in the country this season, and Notre Dame is basically the sacrificial lamb in this one. The Crimson Tide are loaded with NFL talent on both sides of the ball, and it’s hard to see Notre Dame keeping this one close.

The Fighting Irish really struggled in the ACC Championship Game, and they will have to be nearly perfect to keep this one within 20 points. Notre Dame might be able to compete for a half, but the Alabama offense is going to take control of this game.

Bet the Alabama Crimson Tide -19.5 over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the Rose Bowl Game as part of the College Football Playoff.
