FanDuel Promo: Get Big $100 For Ohio Sports Betting

Ohio Sports Betting

FanDuel is offering $100 in free bets to Ohio customers who register before the state’s Jan. 1 sports betting launch. Users who sign up and verify their identity with FanDuel will have a great promo, $100 in free bets added to their account Jan. 1. Once launch day arrives, customers remain eligible for the site’s “No Sweat First Bet” of up to $1,000 after making their initial deposit.

Legal sports betting in Ohio promises to open with a bang, given that the state’s universal launch date falls on an NFL Sunday in the thick of the college bowl season. And one of the industry’s biggest mobile sportsbooks is looking to bolster the bankroll of Buckeye State bettors before legal wagering kicks off for real.

FanDuel is offering $100 in free bets to Ohio customers who register with the site prior to the state’s sports betting launch date of Jan. 1. Users who sign up and verify their identity with FanDuel will have $100 in free bets added to their account on the day the operator goes live in Ohio, and once launch day arrives customers remain eligible for the site’s “No Sweat First Bet” of up to $1,000 after making their initial deposit.

According to the terms of FanDuel’s sportsbook, only winnings are initially withdrawable when free bets are used. FanDuel promotions are also limited to one per person. Ohio’s law says users must be physically in the Buckeye State to legally wager using an app or mobile site.

From Daily Fantasy To Top Sportsbook

FanDuel has partnered with the Belterra Park horse racing track and casino to offer mobile sports betting in Ohio. It also has applied for a retail sportsbook within the facility near Cincinnati. Both applications have received conditional approval from the Ohio Casino Control Commission, which as of its last update on Oct. 19 had given a preliminary OK to 18 entities seeking mobile licenses and 17 seeking retail licenses in the state.

FanDuel currently offers mobile sports betting in 16 U.S. states, and retail locations in 16 (though not the same; Washington for instance is retail-only, while Tennessee is mobile-only). Ohio will mark the next step for a sportsbook started as a daily fantasy site designed by a group of friends in a backyard in Austin, Texas, in 2009.  When the U.S. Supreme Court struck down the national ban on sports betting in 2018, FanDuel switched to a mobile sportsbook that has become one of the world’s most popular.

FanDuel’s well-regarded iPhone app has fueled its rise. It has an easy-to-read interface, and competitive odds with boosts and occasional live streaming. For promotions, the operator’s best is the “No Sweat First Bet.” It offers new users up to a $1,000 credit (equal to the deposit) if their initial wager fails to win.

FanDuel Promo Part Of Jan. 1 Betting Crush

There will be no soft launch for legal sports betting in Ohio. Mobile apps and retail locations are likely to face a crush of wagers on Jan. 1, given that the Buckeye State kicks off on a Sunday featuring 14 NFL games, the Cleveland Browns among them. Jan. 2 also shapes up as a big sports betting day. The Bengals host the Bills on Monday Night Football. That is the same day as college football Rose, Cotton, Citrus and ReliaQuest bowls.

All of Ohio’s professional sports teams have applied for sports betting licenses. Some planning to open retail wagering facilities within their home stadiums. Therefore, experts believe the state could eventually mature into a $3.5 billion market. Ohio’s launch on Jan. 1 already shapes up as the largest simultaneous launch of legal sports betting in the United States, given the state’s population of nearly 12 million.

FanDuel will almost certainly be a part of it. It already is allowing bettors in Ohio to learn why the operator has become so well-regarded. A free $100 to wager on the Browns, Bengals or Buckeyes is certainly a good way to start.
