FanDuel Maryland: Get $100 Bonus Cash When You Pre-Register

Raise the flag with FanDuel Maryland: Get $100 Bonus Cash

Like a thoroughbred at Pimlico Race Course who stumbled out of the gate but is charging toward the finish, Maryland is making up for lost time when it comes to the state’s long-awaited launch of mobile sports betting. And with FanDuel Maryland you can get $100 bonus cash before launch.

FanDuel, one of America’s most popular sports betting apps, is offering Maryland bettors $100 in free bets. No deposit will be necessary. The promotional deal – which comes with a promo code unlocking a free three-month trial of NBA League Pass – places $100 in free bets in a user’s account on the day Maryland launches mobile sports betting.

That launch date remains unknown. However, some clarity is expected when the commission regulating Maryland’s sports betting industry holds its next scheduled meeting Nov. 21. Excitement is growing over the potential launch of mobile sports betting in Maryland perhaps in late November or early December. That would allow bettors to wager on the rest of the NFL season, plus the playoffs and Super Bowl.

FanDuel Maryland: Get $100 Bonus Cash And A Killer Phone App

The FanDuel Maryland promo offer ends on the state’s launch date, and any free bets issued by the sportsbook expire 30 days after FanDuel accepts its first real money wager in the state. FanDuel free bets are also not withdrawable as winnings, according to the company’s terms and conditions. Users must also be aged 21 or over, and within the boundaries of Maryland as specified by state law.

FanDuel was started in a backyard in Austin, Texas, during the 2009 South by Southwest Interactive festival, when five friends gathered around a picnic table to devise a new way of playing fantasy sports. Nine years later when the U.S. Supreme Court struck down the nationwide ban on sports betting, the company they co-founded was well-positioned to become a leader in a burgeoning new industry.

The Baltimore Ravens have won three in a row and are tied for fourth in FanDuel’s Super Bowl winner odds at +1200.

In the time since, FanDuel has become renowned in particular for its iPhone app. Its blue-and-white color scheme offers an easy-to-read interface, odds are competitive and updated in real time, and in some cases bettors can even access live streaming of certain sporting events. FanDuel currently offers mobile sports betting in 16 U.S. states, and its retail offerings include the sportsbook at the Live! Casino and Hotel in Hanover, Md.

Maryland’s Finish Line Within Sight?

Mobile sports betting licenses have not yet been awarded officially in Maryland. Still, the state’s regulatory body listed FanDuel among 10 sportsbook operators that had been qualified for approval. FanDuel and the nine other mobile operators must next demonstrate controls and systems to the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Commission. That group ultimately will issue licenses and give betting apps the green light to launch.

For sports bettors in Maryland, getting to this point has been a slog. It has been more than 18 months since sports betting was legalized in the state. And it has been almost a year since retail sports betting in Maryland went live. But saddled by a complicated law with 89 pages of regulations, mobile sports betting in the Old Line State has lurched forward in awkward fits and starts. Even Gov. Larry Hogan grew tired with the pace of the process. He ultimately demanded in a June public letter that regulators hurry things up.

And now, suddenly, Maryland sits on the cusp of the finish line. And it could be a great start as the AFC North-leading Baltimore Ravens head to the the playoffs. That also could loop in the World Cup knockout round. And thanks to FanDuel, bettors could have an extra $100 in their bankroll.
