DraftKings and the Boston Bruins have agreed to a multi-year partnership on November 18th. This is another strategic deal for DraftKings as the company becomes the exclusive and official Daily Fantasy for the team and the TD Garden, where the team plays, according to the blueprint.
Daily fantasy becomes the key asset in the deal
DraftKings is based in Boston, and it was only a matter of time until the company extended a partnership with a team in the area. DraftKings will also be the exclusive presenting sponsor” of the Boston Bruins Foundation 50/50 charity raffle. Cam Neely, Boston Bruins president, went on to say;
”The Boston Bruins are excited to announce this new partnership with DraftKings, a Boston-based company that has established itself as the premier hub for daily fantasy sports.”
DraftKings will also be able to establish a strategic marketing strategy in regards to digital and social media content. It will secure and portray the brand on the Bruins homepage, post a link on all digital platforms, and will be able to integrate its app in the process.
DraftKings has a plan in mind to engage more fans when going to games.
“For example, followers will see pregame polls asking fans to predict shots on goal, saves, highest point scorers, and more,” they said in a press release.
Charitable causes will be the main driving point as in-person traffic and viewers will be able to see the digital LED billboard facing inbound traffic into Boston’s famed TD Garden. The 50/50 charity raffles will include branding in the presentations moving forward when the consumers go to these events in the future.
DraftKings will use two driving pieces as the raffle that will include signing up on their platform as it will integrate promotional ads on the billboards.“The Know Before You Go” emails are going to be posted before the game. The hope in regards to the collaboration is to provide the fans with the best experience possible.
The additional branding will be integrated throughout the whole venue. The company has been granted TV visible dasher boards on the offensive side of the net from the beginning of the game to the end of the game.
The company was also granted permission for 15-second full-screen, full-motion commercial sports and L-wrap banners across the 400 plus televisions that are in the arena.
DraftKings gains early access to the sports betting market in Massachusetts.
The deal includes establishing a partnership that involves iGaming and sports betting. With the ongoing battle in regards to sports betting, DraftKings entered Massachusetts with the intention of gaining early access in the state.
When and if the sports betting bill gets passed, DraftKings will be the official sports betting partner of the Boston Bruins and will have a major advantage over its competitors, that will also be awaiting license approvals in the state. The company has operators in fifteen states, including neighboring states like Connecticut and New Hampshire.
Whether mobile sports betting will take place or just in gaming facilities will be the next discussion in the partnership.
