The 2020 college football season will come to an end on Monday night when a pair of premier programs meet up in the College Football Playoff Championship Game. It will be the 12-0 Alabama Crimson Tide taking on the 7-0 Ohio State Buckeyes in this matchup.

Ohio State was the Big Ten champion this season, and then it put on a show in the College Football Playoff semifinal. The Buckeyes picked up a 49-28 win over the Clemson Tigers to earn a spot in the title game.

Alabama has outscored opponents by nearly 30 points per game this season, and it has done so in dominating fashion. The Crimson Tide beat the Notre Dame Fighting Irish 31-14 to earn a spot in the title game.

According to vegas-odds.com, Alabama is an eight-point favorite over the Ohio State Buckeyes on Monday night.

No One Can Stop the Tide

The Crimson Tide are averaging 48.2 points per game, and they have been able to rest starters in the fourth quarter of most games. The SEC is widely considered the best conference in the country, and Alabama had no trouble lighting up those defenses.

Quarterback Mac Jones has thrown for over 4,000 yards and 36 touchdowns this season, and he is incredibly accurate. Wide receiver DeVonta Smith was recently named the Heisman Trophy winner after racking up over 1,600 receiving yards and 20 touchdowns.

The defense of Alabama held Notre Dame to just 14 points in the semifinal, but the offense is what stands out when looking at the Crimson Tide. There aren’t many holes on this roster, and the Tide have rarely been challenged this season.

Can Ohio State Keep Up?

Ohio State has given up just 21.0 points per game this season, but there is no way it can hold Alabama to just three scores in this game. The Buckeyes will look to get pressure on Jones, but containing Smith is a bigger concern.

The real question for Ohio State is if it can keep up when it has the ball on offense. This game is going to turn into a shootout, and the Buckeyes will need to put up points on nearly every possession.

Ohio State scored 49 points in the semifinal win over Clemson, and quarterback Justin Fields led the way. Fields and running back Trey Sermon will both need to play their best games of the season to win the title.

Crimson Tide Rolls to Title

The Buckeyes were impressive in their win over Clemson, but Alabama is on a whole different level. Don’t expect Ohio State to be completely overwhelmed in this game, but that defense is simply going to wear down at some point.

Alabama has been absolutely dominant this season, and that isn’t going to stop in the championship game. The passing attack will take control of this game early, and the Crimson Tide will roll to another College Football Playoff Championship.

Bet the Alabama Crimson Tide -8.0 over the Ohio State Buckeyes on Monday night.
