Buffalo Wild Wings, MGM Resorts Combine for Sports Bettors

Buffalo Wild Wings is known as one of the most popular sports bars in America, but they are about to be known for so much more. Buffalo Wild Wings has partnered with MGM Resorts International to create a new way for fans to enjoy watching and rooting on football.

These two companies have combined to create a free-to-play betting type of game that will be launched during the 2019 National Football League season. Customers will be able to make proposition bets, pick weekly matchups, and declare their favorite NFL teams.

The two major companies are calling their new partnership, Roar Digital, and they have agreed on a multi-year deal. The new feature will be unveiled by Buffalo Wild Wings’ “Blazin Rewards” app, which has been on the market for the last several years.

Buffalo Wild Wings customers have used this app in the past to earn free menu items or other prizes, but the app will soon have a much different use. Roar Digital will give customers the chance to win prizes for correctly picking NFL games and prop bets.

Customers will have to check in at a Buffalo Wild Wings location between Thursday and Sunday to be eligible to play and earn prizes.

This new free-to-play game will be introduced throughout the United States, but Buffalo Wild Wings and MGM Resorts International have also announced other plans as well. The two companies are set to unveil a sports betting app called BetMGM that will be tested this fall.

BetMGM will operate like a mobile sportsbook and could potentially be launched throughout the country in states where sports betting is legal. MGM Resorts and Buffalo Wild Wings will begin testing the sportsbook app this fall in the state of New Jersey, before branching out to other states.

Needing A Boost

This sort of business venture has been in the works for Buffalo Wild Wings since August of 2018. The sports bar chain has seen a recent decline in traffic and profit in recent months, and they are trying to do something to draw more interest to their stores.

There are more than 1,200 Buffalo Wild Wings locations throughout the United States, and this new program will be available in all of them during the 2019 NFL season. There are currently 19 states throughout the country that have legalized sports betting, and Buffalo Wild Wings is hoping to have a betting presence in all of these states in the near future.

Football is the most popular sport to bet on in this country, and that is the reason for these two companies to announce this plan at this time.

Buffalo Wild Wings will also be opening up a restaurant at three MGM locations in the near future, and there is potential to expand upon that agreement as well. MGM Resorts International has taken advantage of the new laws that allow sports betting in several states, and they have made their way into several states throughout the country.

Look for more information from these two sports betting giants as the football season progresses and their plans continue to grow.
