Fresno State is coming off a win over UCLA that was massive for the program, and that win was no fluke. Quarterback Jake Haener is the real deal. Fans of late-night west coast football have known this for a little while, but now everyone else is catching on. Haener almost helped Fresno State upset Oregon back in Week 1, and then he was downright heroic in Week 3 against the Bruins. The Bulldogs are more than capable of running up the score against inferior opponents, as they showed in their wins of 45+ points against Cal Poly and UConn.
As for UNLV, the Rebels are 0-3, and are fresh off a 48-3 loss to Iowa State. The same Iowa State team that only mustered 16 points against FCS school Northern Iowa. In UNLV’s game before the Iowa State debacle, they only finished with 10 points and the offense is a complete mess right now. Through three games, UNLV is averaging just 4.9 yards per pass attempt and only three yards per rush attempt. We just don’t see them keeping up with this high-flying Fresno State passing attack. In their game before the win over UCLA, the Bulldogs scored 63 points.
Fresno State -30.5. Playable at that number.
